5/3/15 Hi guys,
Just a friendly reminder to drink at least 2L of water a day (not including the water you mix with the powder) when using this or any other recipe with over 60g of protein. Protein can be very dangerous for your kidneys in excess without dilution and a lot of Soylent recipes use above the recommended daily intake of Protein to keep you full for longer.
28/8
I have played around with the mixture again as the formula for Centrum for Men has changed, which brought a few values down.
I got rid of almond meal, as there was a bit too much oil in that type of powder making long storage sometimes clump together.
I brought in Sunflower seeds and Kale to make up for the lost fatty acids, Vitamin A and Vitamin K.
Outflour was increased to hide the flavour of everything else in the mix, and to increase the lost calories from Almond meal.
4/8
- I have tried to lower the salt, as the sodium levels were a bit too high.
- I have removed the Milo since it wasn't giving any flavour and put too much iron in the mix.
- I have added Potassium Chloride powder to make up for the lost potassium from lowering the sodium levels.
- I have lowered the almond meal as it was making the texture a bit grainy, and raised the lecithin to compensate.
- Taste is still the same (plain with an oaty taste) and I will be experimenting with flavour powders soon
31/7 Hey guys,
I have just mixed all this together and tried it, below are the findings:
- The Cenovis Multivitamin turned out to be gel inside a capsule (I assumed it was powder) so I have changed this with Centrum Advance. (Meaning the two pills are now Centrum Men Multi, and Centrum Advance)
- I put all the ingredients into a blender and mixed them together, then put the combined powder into a airtight container (which is easy to access)
- I heaped 100g of this combined powder into a 600ml shaker, and filled it almost to the brim with refrigerated water and shook for about 10 seconds
- The flavour was very plain (which is what I was aiming for) so I don't see myself getting sick of the flavour, and I will try adding things like fruit puree or vanilla essence for taste in the future
- I left about half of the mixture for 10 minutes to see if there is any setting or separation, but it stayed perfectly blended even after this time (so you don't need to drink it quickly after mixing)
- I reduced the Oat Flour by 30g, as I no longer needed that much due to adding Centrum Advance to the recipe.
- I added ~20g of Maltodextrin to make up for the lost calories/carbs from reducing the Oat Flour (this will make it taste a bit sweeter)
I will continue to report my findings if I change anything in the future, but so far I am extremely happy with how it turned out on my first try
