I'm attempting to create a gluten, dairy and cocoa free Soylent variant that will suit my food allergies. It does contain soy (in the lecithin granules and the multivitamin), but otherwise it should be pretty low allergen.
So far it tastes pretty alright -- the texture is a little powdery, but it's easy to get used to. The general taste is rather sweet (thanks to the flavored protein powders, I think?), and a bit milky. At first it tasted quite salty, but I've quickly adjusted. I've added a hint of cinnamon and some artificial vanilla essence to my first batch, along with some frozen berries, and this makes it quite tasty.
I've bought all the raw ingredients and I've made up a mix, and with my doctor's blessing I'll be living off this for the next month (March 20th-April 20th ish) to see how it goes!
Check out my blog to see how it goes.
