10/12/2016: Starting the new recipe I made in a private copy. Going to bulkbarn today.
7/12/2016: Just met my doctor and got more info on DRI so I edited it. Already lost 15lbs!
2/12/2016: note on price: Because bulkbarn doesn't display their prices online, I didn't know how much it was going to cost and at this 9+$/ day it is too much. This will change soon as I already have a solution to this cost/day problem. No nuts or grounded almonds, and that replaced with regular granola. This problem is caused by the amount of calories I should be eating.
11/29/2016: note on the red elements:
- calory goal is 2880, the recipe is 2600. good to me since I've been taking less than 2000 calories for a week and I'm fine.
- fat goal is at 94% I should be good
- Carbs are low but I think it's all good
- others: missing info in the sources' nutrition tables
- NB: if I add more of anything caloric in this list the fiber amount and/or calcium becomes too high,
I have been balancing this recipe for some time, trying to input different ingredients in the recipe editor. I still have to see my family doctor and nutritionist to confirm DRVs for my situation.
note on time: A friend of mine (suh frank) started a diy soylent some years ago and told me all about it. I got to try it multiple times and was amaze at how time saving this is. I decided to finally make one for myself and I can come home and have eaten dinner 10 minutes after. No cooking required, and it's awesome because I hate cooking.
note on Taste: Before starting this version (oat flour, grounded almonds, no flaxseed, snack of mixed nuts), I tried the oat flour and the result is amazing. It makes a smooth and consistent drink, and tastes really good (at least to me). I'm sure it'll be even better when I try with milk and ground almonds.
11/16/2016: I began to make and consume my diy soylent. It had 1700 calories but I did eat some things on the side 2-3 days in the first 10 days. At first I was using Steel Cut Oats and I had to ground them before mixing and still the result was not good. I made the switch to Oats Flour when I saw it existed at bulkbarn.
