KetoChow based on Chris Bair's 1.0.4 recipe with products easily available in the UK. This UK recipe has now been tested in real life and all is good!

You can purchase all the minerals from just 3 online stores. If you don't mind paying a couple of pounds extra for the protein, you can order the Dymatize through Amazon.co.uk bringing the number of the online stores down to just two. The cream and salt can be purchased locally as required.

Products that are exactly the same as Chris's original recipe:

  • Dymatize Elite,
  • Now Cal/Mag/D3,
  • Now MK-7 Vitamin K-2
  • Kirkland Signature Daily Multi

Products that have a similar profile to Chris's original recipe but are different brands:

  • Psylium Husk,
  • Salt,
  • Choline Bitartrate,
  • Xanthan Gum,
  • MCT oil - (There are cheaper alternatives to this brand, but it had better reviews for smoothness)
  • Double Cream - (UK cream has more fat and calories and fewer carbs than US Heavy whipping cream so you need less than the original recipe),
  • Now Double Strength Omega 3 - (I couldn't find fish oil of the same strength as the original recipe, this is an omega 3 oil that meets the same result with only 2 pills. Other fish oil brands would have meant you had to take 4 pills for the same nutrition. Make sure you purchase the double strength version).

Main difference to original recipe:

I couldn't find Potassium Citrate powder in the UK, and the Calcium Phosphate from original recipe has to be imported and is £52 on Amazon! I have replaced instead with Potassium Phosphate. There's enough calcium in the Cal / Mag / D3 part that you don't need more calcium. ChrisBair confirms on the ketochow reddit site that the Calcium Phosphate is added for the Phosphate, not the Calcium. I did have a concern that the Freeda calcium phospate from the original reciepe was included for its smoother texture. However, having tried this UK combo in real life now, I can report that there are no issues with grittiness.

Have entered the psyllium husk carbs in UK way (not US way). Can't find carb / fiber breakdown for the UK Xanthan Gum - will check once product arrives. Have assumed the same as the US version for now adjusting for net carbs. I haven't adjusted the Dymatize total / net carbs the UK way at this point so presumably the net carbs is lower. Will update once I see the packaging.
