Increased carbs, protein, and fat for increased calories. Increased salt due to increased perspiration. Switched from a multivitamin pill to a powder because my son won't take a pill. Added soybean oil to minimize stronger taste of olive oil. Experiment results: I used this recipe for a 4 day hike in the Olympic NP. The total weight of powder and oil mixture is 1.4 lb/day. I thought I would need the extra calories, but by the second day I was having a hard time finishing meals. On the third and fourth days I just ate two meals/day and was not hungry. I will adjust this to have less calories. Primary advantages: No fuel, no stove, not pot, no spork, no trash, easy and quick to prepare, lightweight, low volume. Soylent is perfect for long distance hiking.
